I took a photo of text 3mm (9 points) high, and a QR code 26mm or 123px square, with 3px per bit, at a distance of 1 meter. That makes the text 0.0032 radians or 10.9 arcmin high, having glyph elements of around 1 arcmin. The QR bits are 0.63mm on a side, or 0.00063 radians, or 2.18 arcmin. The nominal resolution of human vision is 1 arcmin.
The text and the QR code are clearly readable, illustrating the quality of the 83° (normal angle) camera.
For QRbot to read the QR code, the phone
had to approach to 0.81 meters distance. I assume the issue was not the
resolution of the image, but for the QR portion to be big enough for
QRbot to accept it as a QR code vs. random
spots.
